Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a flagship unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has achieved its highest-ever production of saleable steel during the April-August period, maintaining its strong operational performance in the first five months of the financial year 2026-27.
RSP produced 17,52,561 tonnes of saleable steel during April-August 2026, surpassing its previous best of 17,48,349 tonnes, recorded during the corresponding period in 2023.
The Hot Strip Mill-2 emerged as one of the key contributors to the record performance. The mill produced 11,23,275 tonnes during the April-August period, exceeding its previous record of 10,68,360 tonnes achieved in 2025.
