Bhubaneswar, April 25 -- The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a flagship unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has recorded major achievements in the just-concluded fiscal year, strengthening its position in the production of high-value special steels for critical sectors including defence, energy, automotive, and electrical engineering.
A key highlight was the successful trial and production of DMR 249A HR plates at Hot Strip Mill-2 using the RHOB process. Designed for naval applications, these plates offer superior strength and toughness, contributing significantly to India's push for indigenous defence manufacturing.
