Palampur, Sept. 16 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shanta Kumar said Tuesday that it was a matter of great pride and happiness not only for Palampur but for the entire state that the Rotary-run Eye Hospital at Maranda had received national-level recognition.

He said the hospital had been certified as the best eye hospital in North India, adding that the achievement was a matter of pride for the state.

Shanta Kumar, also a former central minister, recalled the contribution of Dr Shiv Kumar, who had started the Rotary organisation in Palampur and laid the foundation of the eye hospital.
