Panchkula, June 27 -- Haryana's Rohtak recorded the highest maximum temperature in the plains of northwest India at 43.4 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department's Regional Meteorological Centre, New Delhi reported, as severe heatwave conditions continued to grip large parts of Uttar Pradesh while Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Chandigarh braced for a dry and hot weekend with meaningful monsoon relief not expected before July 3.
