New Jersey, June 10 -- Brazil center-back Roger Ibanez has said he will be ready to play at right-back during the FIFA World Cup if called upon by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Doubt surrounds who will fill the role after Roma's Wesley Franca was ruled out of the tournament on Sunday due to an adductor injury.
Veteran defender Danilo is favored to start at right back in Brazil's World Cup opener against Morocco on Saturday, though Ibanez is also an option after being deployed in the role byAncelotti against Croatia in March.
"We're working very hard and giving our best on the training pitch to be as ready as possible for the opening match," Ibanez told reporters when asked who would replace Wesley on Tuesday.
