Kangra, Aug. 22 -- A rockfall occurred on Saturday on Matour-Shimla National Highway leaving one side of the four lane blocked for the traffic near Bathu bridge.

A large boulder fell from the hillside, near the Bathu bridge on the Kangra-Ranital section of the NH 503, causing the vehicle to lose control and collide with a road divider.

According to the local residents, the car was travelling from Kangra towards Ranital and was reportedly headed for Bankhandi when the rocks suddenly began rolling down the hillside. On noticing the danger, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which hit the divider and spun around.
