Ranchi, March 11 -- The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has stepped up efforts to simplify and expedite birth and death registration services, significantly reducing pending applications in recent months.

According to an official release, a review meeting chaired by administrator Sushant Gaurav assessed progress under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.

Officials said pending birth registration cases declined from 2,486 in November 2025 to 179 by February 28, 2026.

Similarly, pendency in death registration cases reduced from 1,408 to 162 during the same period.
