Sheohar, July 19 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary Sunday inaugurated the Belwa-l-Minapur Link Channel (Belwadhar) under the Bagmati-Burhi Gandak River Interlinking Project, describing it as the fulfilment of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's vision of river interlinking and a major step towards integrated water resource management in the state.

The 68.80-kilometre-long link channel, constructed at a cost of Rs 130.88 crore, was inaugurated at Belwa in Piprahi block of Sheohar district. The Chief Minister later inspected the newly completed channel, which is designed to divert surplus water from the Bagmati River to the Burhi Gandak River.
