Kolkata, Sept. 14 -- The Ritabrata Banerjee faction of the Trinamul Congress announced its candidates for the October 6 by-elections to the Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly constituencies on Monday evening, intensifying the contest over the party's electoral symbol between the two rival camps.
Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Ritabrata Banerjee announced Sheikh Safiuddin Zaman as the faction's candidate for Rejinagar and Mohammad Ehetash Mul Haque for Nandigram, the seat vacated by Humayun Kabir and chief minister Suvendu Adhikari respectively.
The names were announced at a press conference at the Trinamul Bhavan.
