Una(HP), April 2 -- The hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for milk, announced by the Himachal government, is being hailed as a relief-filled measure for farmers and livestock breeders.
Those associated with the dairy sector state that the increased prices will lead to an improvement in their income and make it easier for them to sustain their livestock-rearing activities.
In the state budget, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced an increase in the MSP for cow's milk from Rs 51 to Rs 61 per litre, and for buffalo's milk from Rs 61 to Rs 71 per litre. This hike of Rs 10 per litre is considered significant for small and marginal livestock farmers, as it holds the potential to boost their monthly income.
