Dubai, Feb. 18 -- Ricky Ponting has described Australia's campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup as "really poor", saying their defeat to Zimbabwe proved decisive in their early exit from the tournament.
Australia managed just one win from three matches and were knocked out of contention for the Super Eights stage, with the former captain pointing to injuries and underwhelming performances from key players as major setbacks.
"It's been a really poor campaign, it has to be said," Ponting said on the latest episode of The ICC Review. He noted that the absence of players like Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Tim David at different stages disrupted the team's balance.
