Bhubaneswar, Aug. 24 -- A designated Special Vigilance Court convicted a retired health officer of the Indo British Health Organization, Puri, in a disproportionate assets case, sentencing him to three years' rigorous imprisonment, in Bhubaneswar on Monday. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh.

Dr. Hrudananda Samanta, former Assistant Project Officer of the Indo British Health Organization, Puri, was convicted by the Additional Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
