Srinagar, Feb. 26 -- Jammu & Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar Thursday, said that the promised restoration of statehood will reveal how committed the Central Government is to democracy, dignity and development in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement issued today, Sagar said the assurance given by the Prime Minister regarding the restoration of statehood had rekindled hope among the people of J&K. He maintained that statehood is not merely a constitutional arrangement but the rightful empowerment of the people through their elected representatives.
The NC statement comes days after union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal hinted at an early decision regarding the return of statehood to J&K.
