Kolkata, May 26 -- People who have received demolition notices for illegally constructed buildings in Beleghata and Topsia areas of the eastern metropolis, turned up in large numbers in the building department at the KMC headquarters on Tueday evening.
The notice recipients, who were given time for appearing before the officials, claimed that they were not given proper information by the promoters of the landlord and were misguided or even kept in the dark.
The councillor of Ward 118, Tarak Singh expressed disappointment claiming inaction over monsoon preparedness meetings held by the civic body authorities every year during this time.
