Jodhpur, March 31 -- The Rajasthan High Court has expressed dissatisfaction over the prevalent provision of reservation for transgender aspirants in selection and/or appointment in education institutions or state government posts. The court has directed the government to give weightage of 3 per cent marks to all transgender aspirants in selection or appointments.

The division bench of the High Court, comprising Justices Arun Monga and Yogendra Kumar Purohit, while hearing a petition on Monday filed by Ganga Kumari, a trans-woman, held that reservation for aspirants of the referred category in the present classification was a "mere facade and an eyewash".
