Chennai, Aug. 29 -- Asserting that research, innovation and industry-academia collaborations are key to India's progress,Vice-President C.P.Radhakrishnan on Saturday exhorted the educational institutions to go beyond imparting basic education andevolve into global centres of knowledge, research and innovation.
Addressing the Founders' Day celebrations and inauguration of 'Arivukoodam' of the Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology (KVIT) Trust at Perundurai in Erode district of Tamil Nadu, he urged the youth to continuously upgrade their knowledge and move from basic education towards research-oriented education.
