Washington, Sept. 24 -- Support among the Republican voter base for President Donald Trump's handling of the Iran war has witnessed a tumble in recent months, as several GOP Senate candidates have actively called for an end to the conflict amid the surge in fuel prices that are compounding the pressure on the party ahead of the November midterm elections.
GOP incumbents including Senators Jon Husted of Ohio, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Roger Marshall of Kansas and Pete Ricketts of Nebraska are facing growing pressure over the war, while other Republican candidates have publicly called for a swift end to the war.
