Guwahati, Jan. 13 -- Eminent Assamese singer Samar Hazarika, the youngest brother of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, passed away on Tuesday morning at his Nizarapar residence in Guwahati.
He had been suffering from age-related ailments and was admitted to a city hospital prior to his death.
Born to Nilakanta Hazarika and Shantipriya Hazarika, Samar Hazarika lent his voice to numerous music albums and Assamese films, leaving a lasting mark on the region's cultural landscape.
