Jammu, April 28 -- In view of the protest staged by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the Jammu and Kashmir government for removing Urdu as a mandatory language in the revenue records Tehsildar examination syllabus, senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani Tuesday dismissed claims asserting that no such decision has been taken by the government.
"The revenue department had merely issued a notification inviting public objections on the subject and it is a part of a democratic process to gather feedback before any final decision," he told reporters late evening at a press conference at his official residence.
