Lucknow, March 29 -- Banking services in the remote villages of Uttar Pradesh has commenced after a direction from Reserve Bank of India( RBI).
According to sources here on Sunday, more than 61,000 villages and towns in UP still lack access to banking facilities. Taking this situation seriously, the RBI has issued directives to all banks to provide services expeditiously to these locations, having furnished them with a list of such centers.
According to the RBI, a total of 62,404 unbanked centers were identified within the state, the majority of which remain without access to banking services.
