Parmod KumarNew Delhi, Aug. 31 -- The Supreme Court was informed on Monday that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has completed its probe into Madhya Pradesh Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah's remarks against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, but the sanction required to prosecute him remains pending before the competent authority, with the State government's recommendation awaiting a decision at the Governor's level.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana noted that the SIT had completed its investigation and placed its report in a sealed cover, but a chargesheet could be filed only after the requisite sanction was granted.
