Patna, Feb. 27 -- Bihar Tourism Minister Arun Shankar Prasad on Friday informed the state Assembly that development works worth Rs 942 crore are being undertaken from Buxar to Punoura Dham in Sitamarhi, regarded as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, on the lines of Ayodhya.
Replying to a starred question by Anand Mishra, the Minister said religious sites in Buxar were being developed from a tourism perspective under the Ramayana Circuit plan.
He said the Buxar circuit forms part of the Ramayana Circuit and that basic tourist amenities have been created at several religious sites in the district. Four lane roads are being constructed to improve connectivity to destinations under the circuit.
