New Delhi, July 17 -- In a significant decision in the interest of Delhi's farmers, the Rekha Gupta-led Government has approved assistance of over Rs 33.31 crore for farmers whose crops were destroyed due to exceptionally heavy rainfall and waterlogging in August and September last year.
The affected farmers will receive relief at the rate of Rs 75,000 per hectare, with the assistance set to directly benefit farmers across more than 4,442.41 hectares of affected agricultural land spread across different districts and sub-divisions of Delhi.
The amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from next month.
