Pankaj JainNew Delhi, Feb. 25 -- Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Wednesday strongly condemned the alleged racial harassment of women from the Northeast in the national capital and assured strict action against the accused.
In a video message, the Chief Minister said she strongly denounces the incident involving "our sisters from the Northeast" and stands firmly with them. She said Delhi belongs to everyone and the dignity, respect and safety of every citizen is the top priority of her government.
Gupta said she would personally meet the affected women. She added that the police are taking full responsibility and legal action is underway. The government will ensure the strictest possible action against those found guilty.
