New Delhi, Feb. 27 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday announced that March 2 will be a special day dedicated to the daughters and women of the national capital, with several major women-centric welfare schemes set to be launched in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said that multiple initiatives aimed at women empowerment will be rolled out during the programme.

Under the "Meri Punji, Mera Adhikar" scheme, a total of 40,642 girls will receive direct financial assistance amounting to Rs 100 crore in their bank accounts, she said, adding that the move is intended to strengthen financial security and promote long-term empowerment of young girls.
