Lucknow, April 24 -- A major revelation has come to light during the digitization of Waqf properties in Uttar Pradesh.

An audit of records of nearly 1,00,000 Waqf properties uploaded on the "Umeed" portal has revealed that over 12,000 registrations have been rejected. According to officials, this action was primarily due to data entry errors and incomplete documents.

Sources indicate that the highest number of rejected registrations was reported in Lucknow (1,114), followed by Bijnor (1,003) and Saharanpur (990), according to the "rejected list."Other districts include Barabanki (577) and Amroha (85), while Baghpat (60) and Bareilly (17) have reported relatively fewer cases.
