Lucknow, June 11 -- Electricity demand in Uttar Pradesh continues to set new records.
State Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma said that for the past several years, Uttar Pradesh has been supplying the highest amount of electricity in the country, surpassing other states.
According to the Energy Minister, the state's peak electricity demand was 31,678 MW on the night of June 8/9. However, on the night of June 10, it surpassed this figure, reaching 31,894 MW.
This is the highest peak demand ever. This figure reflects the state's growing power needs amid the scorching heat and rising consumption.
