Hyderabad, Aug. 24 -- National farmer movement leader and Bharat Jodo Abhiyaan National Convener Prof Yogendra Yadav urged the Telangana government to immediately recognise tenant farmers and implement the 2011 Cultivators Act.
Yadav, along with Prof Kodandaram and representatives of the Telangana Tenant Farmers' Recognition Movement Committee, met Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka at Praja Bhavan on Monday and submitted a proposal on the recognition process. Yadav said recognition was essential to ensure that crop loans, fertiliser subsidies, market support and crop-loss compensation reached the actual cultivators.
