Kolaghat, June 9 -- The widening schism within the Trinamool Congress spilled dramatically into public view on Tuesday when two MPs identified with the party's dissident camp-June Maliah and Deepak Adhikari (Dev)-attended Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari's high-profile administrative review meeting, a day after rebellion by a section of TMC parliamentarians shook the party's top leadership.
The presence of the Midnapore and Ghatal MPs, along with two Trinamool MLAs at the BJP government's official programme in Kolaghat located in East Midnapore district, has added a fresh political dimension to the crisis engulfing the Trinamool Congress and intensified speculation about the emergence of a new alignment in Bengal politics.
