Madrid, July 5 -- Real Madrid confirmed on Sunday the signing of Netherlands international defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan on a four-year contract.
The 30-year-old right back completed the move after the Netherlands' World Cup campaign ended, having delayed confirmation of the transfer until his country's tournament was over.
Madrid paid Dumfries' 20 million euro (23 million U.S. dollar) release clause to secure the defender, who is expected to help fill the void left by Dani Carvajal.
The veteran right back departed at the end of last season after his contract was not renewed.
