Maharajganj, March 1 -- An incident has come to light in Maharajganj district, where an accused booked under serious charges, including rape, the POCSO Act, and the SC/ST Act, escaped from police custody while being taken to court for remand, officials disclosed on Sunday.
According to reports, the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Shyamdeurwa Police Station. The accused, identified as Kishan Sahni (22), a resident of Kundur village under Kaptanganj Police Station in Kushinagar district, was booked in Case No. 354/2025 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Sections 5/6 of the POCSO Act, and Section 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST Act.
