Bhopal, April 17 -- A man, accused of rape by his own minor daughter, died by suicide by hanging inside a police station lock up in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh.
Following the incident, the in-charge of the police station has been attached to the reserve line and a head constable has been suspended.
The incident occurred inside the Namli police station early morning Thursday.
The 38-year-old accused father made a noose with the drawstring of his lowers and tied it from a pipe above in the lockup room to hang himself.
He was locked up, as his 16-year-old daughter had lodged a case of rape against him. The man was booked under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections.
