Ranchi, April 15 -- : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday sought security for a medical student and a fast-track trial in an alleged sexual assault case reported from Lalpur in Ranchi.
Party spokesperson Ajay Sah met the survivor at a private hospital and said the party would extend "full support" to her. He also said senior leaders had spoken to the survivor over phone.
Sah alleged that the survivor and her friend were being threatened and pressured to withdraw the case. He claimed that relatives of the main accused were attempting to influence the matter. These claims could not be independently verified.
