Rampur, April 20 -- Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam, who are serving seven-year sentences in two PAN card cases, have received no relief from the sessions court.
The MP-MLA court jugde Dr. Vijay Kumar on Monday rejected the father-son appeal for a reduction in sentence.
The magistrate court had previously sentenced both of them to seven years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each. The defence had appealed for a reduction in sentence, while the prosecution had filed a petition seeking longer sentence.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the sessions court delivered its verdict, refusing to grant any relief. Following this decision, Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam's sentences remain unchanged.
