New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh on Friday accused the Narendra Modi government of setting a new record by allowing the gap between the adjournment sine die of Parliament and its prorogation to stretch to 29 days, surpassing the 28-day gap recorded during the 2015 Monsoon Session.
In a post on social media platform X, Ramesh said the gap had reached 29 days during the 2026 Monsoon Session and was continuing to widen, with no clear indication of when the session would be formally prorogued.
"Today, the Modi government has broken its own record set in 2015 and established a new record," Ramesh said, pointing out that such a gap was ordinarily only three or four days.
