New Delhi, June 5 -- : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday marked World Environment Day by planting a sapling at Lucknow Cantonment in Uttar Pradesh and called upon citizens to join efforts towards building a greener, cleaner and more resilient future.
The special tree plantation drive was organised with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, enhancing green cover and creating greater public awareness about climate change and sustainable living.
Describing a healthy environment as the cornerstone of sustainable development and national progress, Singh emphasised the need for collective action to safeguard natural resources for future generations.
