New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- In a major push towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the transfer of technology (ToT) for all conventional missile systems developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to Indian defence companies for indigenous production.
The decision is significant, as it seeks to move India's indigenous missile capability beyond the research and development stage towards wider industrial-scale production, while giving domestic defence companies a larger role in manufacturing advanced weapon systems.
