Lucknow, May 31 -- After a year as the acting Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP), Rajiv Krishna was made permanent in the post on Sunday.
The state will get its first permanent DGP after 4 years. On May 11, 2022, the government removed the then-full-time DGP, Mukul Goyal and since then, the state has only had acting DGPs.
Sources said here on Sunday that the state government has issued an official order in this regard.
The present DGP will serve for at least two years. Rajiv Krishna has been acting DGP since June 1, 2025.
