Jaipur, April 7 -- union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that India has extended the plank of the Swadeshi (self reliance) in attaining total Food Security for feeding her 140 crore plus population.
Addressing the first regional agriculture conference of the western states here, the Minister said, "In the present day global scenario, dependency on others (nations) to feed our population is not an ideal situation, not even a viable state.
"That is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided that we should cater to our needs for feeding the entire population by domestic production of our own farmers," Chouhan said.
