Jaipur, Aug. 1 -- The monsoon session of the Rajasthan Assembly will begin on August 20 that is likely to last for a week or so, an official spokesman said.

Governor Haribhau Bagade has convened the session exercising powers vested in him under Article 174 (1) of the Constitution yesterday, the spokesman said.

The session is expected to be brief but stormy. Amidst rising political acrimony between the ruling BJP and traditional rival Congress, ahead of the long spell of the urban civic bodies and the Panchayat polls, contentious issues of paper leaks, the state of law and order, corruption and crimes may rock the House.
