Tumakuru, Nov. 27 -- Amid deepening tensions within the ruling Congress in Karnataka, senior MLA and former minister K N Rajanna on Thursday called for dissolving the Legislative Assembly and seeking a fresh mandate to settle the leadership tussle once and for all.
Rajanna, speaking to reporters in Tumakuru, argued that the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) must have the final say on the Chief Minister's post just as it did while choosing Siddaramaiah in 2023. "Let's dissolve the Assembly and face elections. Then let us work together under DK Shivakumar's leadership, secure a majority and let him serve as CM for five years. The CLP elected Siddaramaiah earlier-now too, the decision must rest with the CLP," he said.
