Thrissur, May 4 -- In the first confirmed results of the Kerala Assembly counting, Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Rajan J Pallan Monday won the Thrissur Assembly constituency, while Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate U R Pradeep retained the Chelakkara (SC) seat for the Left Democratic Front (LDF), according to official counting trends.

In Thrissur, Rajan J Pallan of the Indian National Congress secured a comfortable victory in a closely watched three-cornered contest involving the LDF and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
