Thane, Sept. 6 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray on Sunday warned that attempts could be made to trigger communal riots during the upcoming Ganeshotsav to divert public attention from pressing issues facing the country.
Addressing a state-level meeting of MNS office-bearers at the Ram Ganesh Gadkari Rangayatan in Thane, Thackeray alleged that a large-scale mechanism was being put in place to create communal tensions. He further claimed that some people within the BJP were unable to speak openly about the issue.
Expressing concern over the upcoming festival, Thackeray urged both Hindu and Muslim citizens to remain vigilant and avoid getting drawn into provocations.
