Jodhpur, Nov. 4 -- The Rajasthan High Court has taken suo moto cognizance of reports on the loss of human lives in serious road accidents at various places, including Phalodi, Jaisalmer and Jaipur.
A division bench headed by Justice Dr Pushpendra Singh Bhati while taking cognizance in the matter today sought report from the state government on plans and measures taken or being taken to prevent tragic loss of lives in road accidents.
The court has also appointed amicus curiae for making suggestions in the matter for curbing accidents. A letter petition is also submitted by a lawyer, Rajendra Sharma, before Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma. The court has sought reply from Advocate General Rajendra Prasad.
