Lucknow, Aug. 19 -- Rain continues to lash Uttar Pradesh with more than 18 people lost their lives in this monsoon rain in the state.
More than 18 people died in the state on Tuesday due to rains in the past 24 hours.
Six of these people were killed in a house collapse in Hamirpur, while 4 people died in Prayagraj in different rain-related incidents. One died each in Kanpur, Unnao, Badaun, Kannauj, Hardoi, Ballia, Bahraich and Farrukhabad due to lightning and other incidents.
On Tuesday, heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning were witnessed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Chitrakoot and Mirzapur received heavy rains.
