Hyderabad, June 9 -- An eight-year-old boy from Guwahati, who suffered severe respiratory failure following an Influenza B infection, has recovered after undergoing one of India's most complex paediatric ECMO rescue missions led by Rainbow Children's Hospital, Hyderabad.

The child was initially admitted to a hospital in Guwahati with severe pneumonia caused by Influenza B.

Despite remaining on ventilator support for nearly a week, his condition continued to deteriorate and his oxygen levels remained critically low, the hospital said in a release here on Tuesday..
