Kolkata, Sept. 1 -- The Meteorological Department has predicted spells of rain in Kolkata and several districts of south Bengal in the days leading up to Durga Puja, the state's biggest festival.
Officials said a cyclonic circulation has formed over the north Bay of Bengal, while another low-pressure system is expected to develop over the sea, pulling in large amounts of moisture.
Under their combined influence, light to moderate rainfall is likely across Kolkata and adjoining districts through the week.
