New Delhi, Oct. 19 -- The Railway Board has increased the minimum age for direct recruitment of Station Masters from 18 to 20 years, effective October 7. Recruitment processes with previously issued centralised employment notifications are exempt from this change.
The upper age limit remains at 30 years, subject to prescribed relaxations, under the revised provision in the Indian Railway Establishment Manual.
"It has now been decided by the Board to increase the lower age limit for direct recruitment to the post of Station Master from 18 to 20 years," the Board said in its October 7 order.
The updated provision sets the age range at 20 to 30 years, with applicable relaxations.
