Agartala, Aug. 28 -- The Tripura State Electricity Corporation (TSECL) has completed 100% electrification work of the 271 km long railway track across Tripura to facilitate the movement of electric engines replacing diesel locomotives, said State's Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath today.

He said a 132 KV power transmission line and feeder bay for Railway Traction Electrification in Tripura at Agartala Railway Station complex has already been functional. Northeast Frontier Railway has long been waiting to run an electric engine, but is waiting for track electrification.
