New Delhi, Oct. 19 -- The Railway Board has clarified that employees recruited through channels other than the sports quota are also eligible for consideration for out-of-turn promotions and other sports incentives, subject to prescribed sporting norms and existing policy conditions.
"The benefit shall be admissible irrespective of the mode of initial recruitment of the Railway Employee," the Board said in a circular.
The clarification follows queries from zonal railways on whether such benefits were restricted to employees recruited under the sports quota or could also be extended to those appointed through other channels who subsequently achieved the prescribed sporting standards during their service.
